Final Edits are Done
Thanks to the perserverance of Linda, my patient and kind editor at Leatherwood Press the final edits of both Jee’s Bones and Journey of the Heart are now complete! I’m excited about the end result. Without a doubt, both manuscripts are now much better than they were when the process started. Though I’m pleased with the results, I have to note that the process at times was painful. At a logical level feedback is a wonderful thing. Who wouldn’t want to know what they could change or improve, right? I understand that logically, but somehow my emotions get involved when it comes to things I create. “There is no way we change that!”
Great editors are not only good with the written word, they’re good with the writers that wrote the word. I’m embarrassed to tell you some of the words Linda and I argued about. Most of the time she was right, but she let me win a few—or at least she let me feel like I did.
So this is a public thanks to Linda for a job well done and for her patience throughout the process.
